Beaurepaire Patisserie - Belper, Derbyshire.

It was bank holiday Monday. Me & Emily were on the hunt for somewhere in Belper that we could sit and have a hot drink and a catchup. We both love Belper.
A lot of places were shut. However, we came across Beaurepaire Patisserie so took a look inside.

At first, I wasn't sure whether it was somewhere that you can sit in. Once you're inside though, there is a sign which advises a tearoom upstairs. Perfect.
The inside of the shop was quite simplistic with their homemade cakes on display and blackboards behind the counter with food and drinks on them.

We headed upstairs to find a table. When I walked into the tearoom, I loved it!

The interior was so adorable! Really traditional tearoom looking which made the place feel really welcoming and cosy. Completely different to the shop downstairs!

We took a seat, scanned the drinks menu and went downstairs to order.
I had a hot chocolate and Emily a skinny cappuccino. They were very nice.

A few other people in the room were eating. After deciding that we could fit some grub in, we ordered a little snack to keep us going.
The menu comprises of fresh sandwiches, toasties, quiche... little bits and bobs like that, along with their afternoon/ cream teas.

We both chose a toastie. Mine, tuna mayo & Emily cheese and onion.

There was no point in showing you both, they looked identical.
There was a lovely crunch to the toasted bread which was great and it kept its shape which I think is very important with a toastie. You don't want it falling apart whilst eating it.

The only slight comments we made were that the tuna mayo had sweetcorn mixed in, which wasn't advertised and the cheese & onion was white onion and not red which Emily would have preferred.
Overall though, it tasted nice and it filled a hole.

A couple sat next to us had ordered a silver three tiered afternoon tea. It looked amazing. The sandwich selection along with cakes and scones all looked so pretty and delicious. Definitely one to try on a return visit.

As we went down to pay, I was able to get a closer look at all of the amazing cakes on offer.

There were brownies, cupcakes, scones, fruit cakes, truffles, chocolates and this rather tasty looking carrot cake. I almost took one home with me but seeing as it was just after Christmas, I don't think I need any extra calories!

The lady serving was super friendly and had a chat with us about the things they make and what things were.

A lovely little place to visit in the lovely town of Belper. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for this kind of thing.

Take a look at their Facebook page:
