Local Christmas Markets For Foodies.

So, it's now November which means that it's getting closer and closer to 'that' time of the year.
In the run up to Christmas, there are a range of different local markets, festivals, fairs or whatever you want to call them, that are perfect for foodies like myself.

I decided to put together a list of these just in case you're looking for some inspiration for a festive day out.

Here we go...

Derbyshire Christmas Food, Drink & Gift Market.

Where: The Roundhouse, Derby
When: 7th & 8th November 2015.
Website: derbyshirechristmasmarket.co.uk

Described as a 'fabulously festive shopping event' this market has a stall for everyone. This year they celebrate their 6th year at The Roundhouse and has grown in popularity each year. Plus, at £2 per person entry, you can't go wrong really.
If I wasn't away that weekend then I would definitely have gone! Shame.

Chatsworth Christmas Market.

Where: Chatsworth House
When: 12th-29th November 2015.
Website: www.chatsworth.org/attractions-and-events/events/event/christmas-market

Probably the most popular Charistmas market within Derbyshire, Chatsworth is the one that everyone wants to go to and is always super busy. With picturesque scenery and over 100 varied stalls, this isn't one you want to miss.
Entry is free, however there is a car parking charge.

Nottingham Winter Wonderland.

Where: Market Square, Nottingham
When: 20th November-24th December 2015.
Website: www.nottinghamwinterwonderland.co.uk/market/market.html

Every year Nottingham hosts the Winter Wonderland on the Old Market Square. There is plenty to see and buy here with over 50 Victorian Style Cabins selling all sorts of goodies.
As well as the market, there is also an ice rink and two outdoor bars.
It's always great to have a walk around here when doing your Christmas shopping, it really gets you into the spirit of things no matter what day or what time you go.

Morley Hayes Christmas Market.

Where: Morley Hayes
When: 23rd November
Website: www.morleyhayes.com/christmas-market

In the run up to Christmas, you can't miss Morley Hayes with their stunning display of lights brightening up the A608.
Although I've never been to an event at Morley Hayes, they describe it as an 'extravaganza of local food, drink, gifts, crafts and cards'. I was sold at food. I'd say this should be one to go to if your around on the 23rd!

Victorian Matlock Christmas Weekend.

Where: Matlock, Derbyshire
When: 4th-6th December 2015
Website: www.matlock.gov.uk/town-events/victorian-matlock-christmas-weekend-and-markets

Matlock's Christmas weekend is one for all the family and is known to be one of the East Midland's biggest outdoor events that you can get into for free around this time of year. There's a range of entertainment including Santa's parade, the lights switch on and an impressive firework display alongside 150 market stalls.

Belper Winter Food Festival.

Where: Belper, Derbyshire
When: 6th December
Website: www.facebook.com/events/432803796920373

Following on from their super successful summer market (view my post here), Belper are hosting a Christmas themed version showcasing plenty of locally produced food, real ales and crafts.
With free admission and many other attractions, this is another event suitable for the whole family and located in the beautiful town of Belper.

If you decide to go along to a Christmas Market then I hope you have a lovely tine.
Also, feel free to let me know about any other similar events that you're going to, you may end up seeing me there!

Thanks for viewing and happy eating!
