Nourish At No. 44 - Belper, Derbyshire.

I've been here a few times now for both lunch and dinner and absolutely love it!
Therefore, I thought that I should have breakfast too!

We arrived about half past 11 (breakfast is served until 12pm) so it was more like brunch really.
Luckily we were able to get a table straight away. You aren't actually able to reserve a table for breakfast or lunch, only dinner which does mean a bit of coming back and hoping there has become one available.
There aren't many tables inside and it is quite small, but personally I think it's the perfect size.

We picked a table up in the restaurant area rather than the bar tables as we wanted to be away from the front door, it was a little chilly outside and the door is constantly opening and closing with people coming in for a table and there are also people walking to and from the bar/ till area to order and pay.

The menu has plenty of choice, they have a few varied options for vegetarians too.
I chose to have 3 pancakes stacked with bacon and drizzled in maple syrup. The pancakes were ever so fluffy and a very nice size. I did enjoy this, although I was expecting thin and crispy bacon. You know, the kind that snaps and crunches. But this was served with normal bacon which I thought was a bit odd.
I had a glass of fresh orange juice to wash it all down.
Ashlea chose to have a full English breakfast with some extra toast and a cappuccino. He is fussy with what's on there though but the waitress said it was no problem to substitute some parts for others. They do warn you that it is a big one!
Both went down a treat and filled us both up until dinner time.
Before we left, there was one last thing that just had to be done. Cake.
A slice of Oreo cake to take away for later. It was delicious! The slices to take away are put into little boxes which I thought was really cute.
I think one of the great things about this place is the fact that they locally source pretty much everything. They even display it on a huge chalkboard at the back of the bar, but why not! It's something to be proud of.
Something to bear in mind is that card payments are not accepted. There is a sign on the bar which states this and a cash point at the bank directly opposite so is easily resolved.
I would definitely go back again for breakfast, it was nice to go out for a meal other than lunch or dinner and this was a great place to do so.

Check it out!

Thanks for viewing,
